The Art of Movement is a warm and beautiful dance and yoga studio situated in the Emmarentia. Our studio has a fresh, and  positive energy about it, welcoming to all. Our studios are equipped with mirrors, beautiful wooden sprung floors, as well as dance & yoga equipment available for use. If you are an early bird, we have a wonderful waiting area in which you can enjoy a cup of tea/coffee, whilst tapping into our free WiFi facilities and charging stations. We have ample change rooms, but regrettably no showering facilities. Our students are able to enjoy the comfort of knowing that they are in a secure & private space, with ample, secured, parking available.

We are incredibly passionate about yoga, attempting to inspire an authentic understanding & experience of yoga. We have been lucky enough to experience & provide many different styles of yoga, and as such provide a truly customisable experience to each student. Our classes include the yoga sutras of pantajili, pranayama (breathing techniques to balance the body), as well as meditations (to balance the mind). Please note: not all classes incorporate all three in one session.

We offer Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Hatha, Restorative & Yin yoga within our schedule. Our studio can take a maximum of 20 people at a time but in general our classes are small & intimate creating a safe space for you to practice, knowing that the teacher is keeping a watchful eye on you.

We have all equipment available at the studio, which you are welcome to use free of charge.

Established in 2012, we already boast a busy timetable of dance classes throughout the day for children from as young as 4. We are an I.S.T.D affiliated studio (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing) which means that our classes follow a set syllabus to ensure that our dancers get the correct training and technique of an international standard. Our annual dance program includes local & international examinations, competitions and end-of-year productions.

We specialise in ballet, modern, tap, hip hop & acrobatics. Our classes are suitable for girls and boys, with a maximum intake of 10 children per class to ensure that each child receives the attention they deserve. Based on the premise that “A dancing child is a happy child”, we provide a more holistic teaching style, rejecting the trend that one needs to “break” dancers in order to make them brilliant. Instead our teaching style incorporates patience & persistence, working with each child’s natural pace. Our classes are designed to use fun teaching techniques to bring out the best dancer in each child without stress.
