Ballet, Modern, Tap (ISTD) and Hip Hop Teacher
I have been dancing since I was six years old, and my love for dancing is endless. I still continue attending classes, whilst actively teaching and choreographing, to keep my passion for dancing fresh, alive and skillful. I major in ballet, modern and tap for which I have completed all the professional grades through my own teachers Alexandre La Matire; Gabriella Najjar; Trish McKenna; Nadine Bettencourt and Jenny. I also found my love in many other styles namely Flamenco, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Funk and Irish dancing. Whilst teaching I still enjoy performing as a dancer. In the last seven years, I have danced for several advertisements such as Sony BMG, Kulula and Vodacom, as well as participated in quite a few corporate events. I was an assistant dancer for Cesar Alverado’s Adrelatin debut on Morning Live. Furthermore, I have also performed in two pieces for the Ntsoana Contemporary Dance Theatre. My love for the stage is evident as I have performed in West Side Story (dancer), Guys and Dolls (dancer), Footloose (supporting actress), and The Crucible (lead actress).
I started artistic gymnastics at the 6 and never looked back. I moved on to rhythmic gymnastics as dancing has always been my favourite form of expression. I loved competing both nationally and internationally for over 10 years before coming a coach and a judge. The Kiwi Classic dance competition in New Zealand in 2015 and 2016 was another highlight for me, and I have completed the BTDA acrobatics examinations. I thoroughly enjoy using my knowledge of movement and gymnastic elements in the studio, as well as having a real joy for all aspects of dance, musicality and performance.
