PROGRAM FOR THE MORNING :
09:00 – 10:15: Hatha Yoga Practice. Slow & gentle sequence, prescribed by Sivananda suitable for beginners to advanced practitioners. The focus here is not on achieving the full expression of the yoga poses but rather to use them to relieve tension & discomfort from the body and to connect to the deeper layers of the self.
10:15 – 10:45: Pranayama. These are breathing techniques as outlined by BKS Iyengar, to focus the mind, balance the energy body, & work into the knots of anxiety, hypertension & depression that are present in the body. This is a fantastic bridging process for anyone who feels their mind is too busy to achieve silence. Instead of asking the mind to quieten, we give it a tool that inspires a state of peace.
10:45 – 11:00: A little break – get some sun – practice some grounding – have a cup of tea and a biscuit – or remain on your mat – whatever works for you:)
11:00 -11:30: Meditation practice: We will use various tools as outlined by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, to help take the mind into its natural quietened states. In this state we are able to enjoy deep levels of peace, and when meditation is achieved, the deep layers of stress are released to leave you feeling fresher.
11:30 – 12:00: Yoga Nidra – Otherwise known as yogic sleep. This is a guided state of deep rest which is equivalent to 4 hours of sleep. After this practice you should feel completely rested & rejuvenated.
About Kelly Lynch
Hi lovelies 🙂 My name is Kelly.
I’m a passionate dancing and yoga teacher, as well as the owner of The Art of Movement. My yoga journey began when I was 14, when I attended my first meditation course. I fell in love instantly with meditation and everything it has to offer. About two years later, I began a daily hatha yoga practice at 5:30am before heading to school. Once heading to University to study English Literature & Philosophy, I started exploring the world of Vinyasa yoga and eventually Ashtanga yoga which I fell in love with. My yoga journey eventually led me to practicing Jivamukti, Sivananda & Yin Yoga. Once I started teaching full-time (about 9 years ago), I dove into a pranayama practice (yogic breathing), and immersed myself in the ancient yogic philosophies, and again fell in love with it all.
Overall, I am passionate about everything yoga, from the philosophies, to the asanas, to the meditation. They have all made a massive impact on my life & I wish to share the yogic way with all of the souls that cross my path.
