What to expect?
In this 4 week course, we will be focusing on the basics of ballet.
You will be taught basic ballet positions and technique and shown how to incorporate this into a dance. We will start each class at the ballet barre, where you will be taught a series of exercises perfect for beginner ballerinas. Barre is used to gradually warm up your body, train the muscles for turnout and proper alignment, and build stability on the standing leg. Ballet barre is used to get your body strong enough for center work. We will then move into the center where you will be taught short combinations, incorporating what you learnt at the barre.
We are confident that at the end of this course you will have the necessary basic ballet skills to join a open class
My name is Ariel, I have lived and breathed dance since the age of 7 to date. Ballet was the start of everything, it gave me a strong foundation to pick up on other dance forms that I was curious about. Today I am professionally trained and training in the genres of ballet, contemporary, modern and tap dance. Above all dancing has taught me to speak without words, it has taught me that you can achieve anything as long as you are willing to start from the bottom and build yourself up, it has taught me that where there is passion there is power and finally that you can always improve, learn and work on yourself which keeps you humble.
