About Melody Hill Retreat Centre
Melody Hill Retreat is a 2-hectare country estate set in a secluded and peaceful pecan-nut orchard, on the banks of the Magalies River. This river-side property is situated in a valley that boasts a unique ecosystem teaming with birds and indigenous plant life. The home of Nag-apies, Porcupines, Vervet Monkeys and Hornbills. In summer the mature pecan trees create a lush green forest canopy, during winter the sunlight streams in through the bare trees, and inbetween, spring and autumn offer up all of their wonderful colours.
Melody Hill offers a peaceful and tranquil setting for mind, body and soul integration. Total harmonious relaxation for the body, mind and spirit. Melody Hill has four venues, a large villa, a smaller villa and two cottages. Our grounds and facilities include a studio, swimming pool, labyrinth, river, orchard, dam, vegetable gardens and beautiful buildings, designed and built by us with love and passion over 25 years.
The close proximity to Johannesburg, Pretoria and Rustenburg makes a two or three night stay easily manageable. The route from Johannesburg and Pretoria passes through the scenic landscape of the Cradle of Humankind. Come and experience a setting in harmony with its stunning environment!
Catering (three meals per day) includes snacks & drinks, with a focus on wholesome, healthy, organic vegetarian food, sourced locally and prepared by our “healing through food” chefs.
The price is per person sharing: 2 people per room (single beds)
About Kelly Lynch
Hi lovelies My name is Kelly.
I’m a passionate dancing and yoga teacher, as well as the owner of The Art of Movement. My yoga journey began when I was 14, when I attended my first meditation course. I fell in love instantly with meditation and everything it has to offer. About two years later, I began a daily hatha yoga practice at 5:30am before heading to school. Once heading to University to study English Literature & Philosophy, I started exploring the world of Vinyasa yoga and eventually Ashtanga yoga which I fell in love with. My yoga journey eventually led me to practicing Jivamukti, Sivananda & Yin Yoga. Once I started teaching full-time (about 9 years ago), I dove into a pranayama practice (yogic breathing), and immersed myself in the ancient yogic philosophies, and again fell in love with it all.
Overall, I am passionate about everything yoga, from the philosophies, to the asanas, to the meditation. They have all made a massive impact on my life & I wish to share the yogic way with all of the souls that cross my path.
