Overview
This 6-week ballet course is designed specifically for adults who are new to ballet or returning after a long break. Whether you’ve always wanted to try ballet or are looking for a graceful and engaging way to improve your fitness, this course will guide you through the foundational movements and techniques of classical ballet in a supportive, non-judgmental environment.
What to Expect
Over six weeks, you’ll be introduced to the basic positions, terminology, and movements that form the building blocks of ballet. Each class begins with a gentle warm-up at the barre, followed by center work focusing on posture, balance, and coordination. Expect a slow and steady pace with clear explanations, personal corrections (if desired), and an emphasis on developing body awareness and confidence.
By the end of the course, you’ll:
Understand basic ballet terminology and positions
Develop better posture, flexibility, and coordination
Build strength through controlled, low-impact movement
Gain confidence in moving with grace and musicality
No leotards or tutus required—just comfortable clothing you can move in and a willingness to learn.
Who Can Join
This course is open to all adults aged 18 and above. No prior dance experience is necessary. It’s perfect for complete beginners, those who danced as a child and want to reconnect with ballet, or anyone looking for a creative and expressive form of exercise. Everyone is welcome—regardless of age, body type, or fitness level.
Come as you are and discover the joy of ballet in a fun and encouraging space!

About Us

Kelly Lynch
Hey lovelies, my name is Kelly. I am the owner of The Art of Movement, and I specialize in ballet, modern, tap, contemporary, hip hop & salsa dancing. I’ve been dancing for 26 years now, and teaching for approximately 10 years 🙂 I absolutely love dancing, and love to teach. Working with beginners has always been one of my favorite things to do, as I just love watching my dancers develop week by week. My aim for you in class is to explore your capacity, to be challenged and encouraged, but mostly to find passion and joy in your dance journey 🙂
